Job Overview

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multi Skilled M&E Engineer to join our Technical Services team at the University of Greenwich Medway. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Our ideal candidate will have core expertise in electrical and mechanical engineering, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will ensure optimal operation of key campus facilities, delivering high standards of service in line with statutory compliance and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake day-to-day operations, planned maintenance, fault finding, and repair of building services equipment.
  • Interpret technical schematics and drawings to perform planned preventative maintenance, rectification of faults, and installation of new equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety, COSHH, and Permit to Work Regulations at all times.
  • Work to deadlines to minimize plant downtime and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
  • Qualification in or knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Time served engineer with at least 5 years of relevant post-experience in a similar environment.
  • Ability to multitask across mechanical, electrical, and building disciplines at a basic level.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to organize others.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Prioritizing own workload and working under own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of working within a building maintenance organization.
  • Basic supervision of maintenance contractors.
  • Good understanding of interrelationship between assets and their maintenance and lifecycle requirements.
  • Understanding of user requirements and concepts behind various maintenance regimes.
  • Working knowledge of H&S and relevant current legislation and guidance.
  • Personal presentation must be of a high professional standard.
  • Strong sense of client focus.
  • Prepared to contribute to how the department operates.
  • Must hold a UK driving license.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
