As a Hazardous Waste Operations Lead, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Wednesbury Treatment Plant cost centre, with an overview of Wednesbury Transfer Station and Wednesbury Packaged Goods Transport. Your primary goal will be to analyze and improve operational efficiencies, maximize financial performance, and develop customer service excellence for external and internal clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the performance and development of personnel, ensuring the site meets its budgetary requirements and KPIs.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
- Participate in the development of new projects and lead project implementation as requested.
- Work alongside like-minded waste professionals in a diverse environment built on transparency.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager, Project and Maintenance Manager to promote a proactive culture within the team.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical related science or Engineering.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Experience of managing an operational team within the Hazardous Waste industry.
- Relevant professional experience, including managing a mixed skills team in a busy demanding environment.
- Computer literate/using MS Office applications.
- Preparation of risk assessments & method statements.
- Leading incident investigations and disciplinary hearings.
- Hazardous waste legislation.
- Strong relationship management, leadership and motivational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A natural problem solver, who thrives under pressure and can change priorities with autonomy.
