Housing Compliance Manager

About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with experience in housing enforcement and regulation. As a Housing Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of officers to ensure that housing standards are maintained.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Line manage Housing Standards Officers to ensure efficient delivery of services;
  • Effectively manage case work, prioritizing workload and service requests;
  • Supervise officers, providing support where needed;
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve issues related to housing defects and licensing;
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for housing enforcement activities;
  • Work closely with the team to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.


Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., law, social sciences);
  • Experience in inspection and enforcement for housing standards;
  • Familiarity with formal procedures such as PACE and RIPA;
  • Working knowledge of housing legislation and current best practice;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Able to write concise reports and provide effective support to the team.

We offer a competitive salary range of £35,790 - £43,543 per annum, depending on experience. This appointment will be made subject to a satisfactory enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
