Child and Educational Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced Educational Psychologist to join our Mental Health in Schools Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering mental health support to children and young people in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of the Whole School and College Approach (WSCA) within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) programme. This will involve working closely with education settings, EMHPs, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of mental health interventions and support.
You will also be responsible for maintaining models of assessment and intervention, achieving service targets for WSCA, and reporting to stakeholders and commissioning groups. Additionally, you will contribute to the training of head teachers, teachers, SENCOs, and other education professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Doctorate in Educational Psychology (DEdPsy) or equivalent in Applied Psychology. You should also have experience of working with children and young people with varying social, emotional, and behavioural needs, as well as experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency setting.
You will need to have a working knowledge of health, social services, education, and the voluntary sector, together with relevant legislation regarding children and mental health. You should also have an understanding of child development and family functioning, as well as knowledge of the range of young people's mental health problems and mental health services.
