Reed Finance is partnering with a repeat client to recruit an interim Financial Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis for a period of six months as they continue an extensive transformation project across their finance function.

This business offers B2B consultancy within the engineering and environmental sectors, working with businesses on projects ranging from rail infrastructure to sustainable energy solutions. They offer a flexible and supportive working environment and have a longstanding relationship with Reed.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure the finance function is well-controlled and performing efficiently and effectively, including day-to-day management of the transactional team, supported by the Accounts Payable Manager.
  • Prepare consolidated period and Year End reporting.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for Group entities, and assist in the preparation of the main company statutory accounts.
  • Lead on intercompany accounting processes, improving efficiencies while maintaining requirements to tight deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, Tax, VAT, and other statutory requirements.
  • Assist with audit liaison (internal and external).
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.

**Requirements:**

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or passed finalist.
  • Skilled at financial accounting and with commercial intuition.
  • A natural process improver, with a keen eye for streamlining processes and improving efficiencies and process automation.
  • Strong knowledge of group accounting and experience of managing and motivating a team.

This assignment will last six months and is offering a competitive daily rate. Hybrid working (minimum 2 days in office) is available in this role.
