Fertility Nurse Job Description

At Liberty Resourcing, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fertility Nurse to join our team at a high-end clinic in Boreham Wood, Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical and emotional support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Explain treatment processes and obtain consent from patients.
  • Schedule patient treatments and maintain regular contact with patients.
  • Support the management team in delivering departmental goals and objectives.

General Duties:
  • Carry out consultations with patients to explain treatment protocols and answer clinical queries.
  • Consent patients at appropriate stages of the treatment pathway.
  • Teach patients how to administer injections and medications.
  • Prepare prescriptions and dispense medication to patients.
  • Draw blood and send it for analysis and testing.
  • Interpret and communicate results to patients.
  • Respond to patient queries and provide support.
  • Carry out pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Assist the medical team in theatre.
  • Manage patient recovery following procedures.
  • Carry out clinical audits to ensure standards are met.
  • Support the management team with risk assessments.
  • Ensure the clinic meets infection control standards.
  • Order consumables and clinical stock items.
  • Support the management team with maintaining and validating medical equipment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Midwifery.
  • Registered Nurse or Fertility Nurse/Midwife.
  • Ability to perform ultrasound scans and prescribe medication.
  • At least 1 year's experience as a Fertility Nurse.
  • Experience of carrying out audits and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
