Job Title: Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from inception to completion, and gain valuable experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure and price tenders, ensuring accurate and competitive quotes
  • Take ownership of projects, coordinating with stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure timely completion
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
  • Manage costs and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and budget
  • Develop and implement target plans to drive business growth
  • Prepare and submit CVR reports and forecasts, providing insights into project performance
  • Administer sub-contractor accounts, ensuring timely payments and effective communication
  • Produce and submit applications for payment, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing
Requirements:
  • Professional qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
  • Previous experience in retrofit projects, including EWI/IWI/CWI ASHPs, Solar Panels, Loft Insulation, Roofing, Heat pumps, and ground pumps
  • Experience working with bill of quantities, schedules of rates, design and build contracts, and other commercial management tools
  • Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
  • Strong knowledge of monthly reporting and financial management
  • Excellent team player with ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Experience with direct and subcontract labor
  • Strong time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
