Job Title: Employability Tutor at HMP Five Wells



About the Role:



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced teacher/trainer to join our education team at HMP Five Wells. As our Employability Tutor, you will play a vital role in improving the employability of prisoners by delivering employability lessons to groups of up to 15 learners. Your primary responsibility will be to contextualize delivery within classrooms and workshops, enabling prisoners to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for successful employment on release.

Key Responsibilities:





  • Deliver employability lessons to groups of up to 15 learners, covering the full curriculum as required.

  • Contextualize delivery within classrooms and workshops to improve prisoners' knowledge and skills.

  • Work collaboratively with the local education manager to ensure that all learners have access to learning and receive the support they need to achieve their goals.

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.



Requirements:





  • A full teaching qualification and experience teaching employability courses are required. However, we may consider candidates with equivalent experience who are committed to completing their teaching qualification within the first year of employment.

  • Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant awarding bodies within one year.

  • Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a group of learners with a range of abilities.

  • Ideal experience of teaching in a similar setting.
