About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Ramboll. As a key member of our energy transition team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the Power Systems subject matter expert for the UK, providing input on various stages of client projects;
  • Work on feasibility stage electrical designs for new connections or upgrades, including HV connections for new energy centres and EHV connections for battery storage/renewable projects;
  • Build a team around you to support detailed analysis of power systems as required;
  • Support energy masterplan studies on pathways to decarbonisation, providing expert advice on future loads, feasibility of proposed solutions, and impact assessment on the grid at local, regional, or national level;
  • Keep up to date with supplier developments, equipment lead times, and high-level costs for substations and new connections to the transmission and distribution network;
  • Perform Due Diligence and Owner's Engineer activities for client projects;
  • Project management of bids and projects throughout their life cycle;
  • Stay up to date with the latest ancillary/balancing/flexibility market services for industrial, renewable, and battery storage projects.
About You
  • Experience working with transmission, distribution, or consulting, particularly with infrastructure planning of project-level, local, and regional power systems schemes across various stages (feasibility, concept, design, and specification);
  • Experience working in accordance with DNO standard documents, reviewing single line diagrams and designs;
  • Knowledge of energy network regulations and staying up to date with the latest changes on business plans and connections charging;
  • Experience working on grid impact assessment for new projects (e.g., connections of renewable, heat pumps, and/or new technologies).
