Mental Health Liaison Specialist

Job Description: As a Senior Liaison and Diversion Practitioner, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable individuals who come into contact with the criminal justice system. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting assessments, developing interventions, and providing guidance on risk management strategies to ensure the well-being of our clients. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, and law enforcement agencies to identify and support individuals at risk of harm or exploitation. Your duties will also include facilitating communication between healthcare providers, social services, and law enforcement agencies, providing training and education to colleagues, and maintaining accurate records and reporting data to inform service development and improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A recognized degree in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, psychology, social work);
- Proven experience working in mental health settings, preferably within a liaison or diversion context;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders;
- A strong understanding of mental health legislation, policies, and guidelines (e.g., CPA, MHA, MCA);
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
