About the Role

A skilled General Operative is required to support residents with planned repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of properties. As a key member of our local team, you will be responsible for undertaking high-standard General repairs and refurbishment activities, delivering exceptional customer service, and adhering to safety, quality, and cost control standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a certified core trade to complete repair/refurbishment works on time and to a high standard in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Take ownership of undertaking construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for a first-time completion while remaining within budget and time parameters.
  • Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and internal/external stakeholders, including appearance, company ID, condition of vehicles, and maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Process all activities in association with tasks/works electronically using a handheld device (PDA), including worksheets, timesheets, and photographic evidence of works before/during/after, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with company policies and report to your Supervisor/Manager where damages occur.
  • Utilize existing stock or collect materials as and when required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance.
  • Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Participate in call-out cover required to ensure contract compliance & service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.

Role Criteria:

  • Window and door Fitting Experience
  • Carpentry Experience
  • Basic Plumbing Knowledge
  • IT literate
  • Good Customer Service skills
  • UK Full driving license
