Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled TB Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a specialist nurse with TB experience and clinical knowledge of working with clients with TB, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Main Duties

  • Provide Nurse Led clinics and a range of services to patients referred into them from GP's and Hospital teams, including Contact tracing, DOT & TB screening.
  • Work alongside a team of Respiratory Consultants and in Conjunction with other Nurse Specialists who may be based at different locations.
  • Manage your own case load, prioritizing care for patients with complex health care needs.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • RGN Level 1
  • Relevant Degree Teaching / mentoring course

Desirable Criteria

  • Specialist TB nursing course

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • 5 years Post Registration Exp. Including 4 years recent acute / working in TB care

Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Update Knowledge of the factors influencing compliance with TB management within the population locally and Nationally
  • Understanding of current practice and proposed developments in TB

Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate TB care delivered to patients and give relevant advice / information to patients and relatives.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Communication skills- Verbal, Non-verbal and written.
  • Experienced in Mantoux testing & results interpretation. Ability to work independently & with others

  • Good Health Computer skills exp. & participation in clinical audit Able to demonstrate regular up-dating of knowledge and learning
