Senior Manager, Account Management

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Account Management to join our team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial and technical support to the Head of Income, as well as managing a team of contract and income accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive financial and technical support to the Head of Income, including advice and information on the National Tariff Payment System regime and financial systems for income from NHS activity.
- Manage a team of contract and income accountants, providing training, coaching, and feedback as necessary.
- Develop and maintain detailed understanding of NHS Payments Scheme (NHSPS) and financial aspects of the NHS standard contract.
- Manage the Service Level Agreement Monitoring (SLAM) software, ensuring upgrades are undertaken as required and that software is used as efficiently as possible.
- Coordinate the download, review, and preparation of detailed patient level information feeds from various systems, developing complex spreadsheets and databases to analyze the data.
- Ensure accurate recording of NHS patient care income in the financial ledger, reconciling invoices and income received.
- Resolve any issues, including liaising with Commissioners to negotiate solutions to disputes.
- Lead on and develop reporting capabilities, including outputs from multiple systems.
- Work closely with other departments and teams across the Trust and wider LCHG group.
- Provide training to colleagues on payment arrangements for NHS patient activity and implications of activity recording bad practice.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of NHS Payments Scheme (NHSPS) and financial aspects of the NHS standard contract.
- Experience of managing a team of accountants and providing financial and technical support.
- Ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
