We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Gender Service Lead to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in child and adolescent mental health, the successful applicant will provide leadership and expertise in the development and delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing gender-related distress.

The Child and Adolescent Gender Service Lead will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive assessment and treatment protocols for children and young people experiencing gender-related distress.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to multidisciplinary teams working with these patients.
  • Conducting research and contributing to the development of new treatments and interventions for children and young people experiencing gender-related distress.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care pathways for patients.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement comprehensive assessment and treatment protocols for children and young people experiencing gender-related distress.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care pathways for patients.

Requirements

  • Doctorate-level qualification in clinical psychology or a related field (e.g., counseling psychology, health psychology).
  • HCPC registration as a practicing psychologist.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality psychological assessments and interventions, including those related to gender identity.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
