Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are working with an established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor to assist with their search for a Quantity Surveyor.

The contractor is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to the building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for various projects.
  2. Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  3. Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects.
  4. Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  5. Tender Preparation: Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors.
  6. Contract Management: Manage contractual claims and disputes effectively.
  7. Procurement Advice: Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract administration.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or a related industry.
  3. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  5. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.
  6. Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
