Nexos is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning Specialist to join our team. This is a contract position based in Aberdeen, with occasional site visits required.
As a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership and collaborating with contractors and company teams to ensure compliance with HSE expectations.
- Attending site Risk and Technical Coordination (RTC) meetings and participating in risk assessments to ensure the safe execution of electrical and instrumentation work.
- Responding to engineering site queries, providing clarification on design requirements, and liaising with engineering contractors to address Site Engineering Queries (SEQs).
- Providing engineering support to construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Reviewing and accepting contractor-supplied procedures and activities for the installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Witnessing and accepting site acceptance tests to ensure the quality and functionality of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Implementing, executing, and completing all discipline work-scopes detailed within Commissioning Test Procedures.
- Ensuring vendors are utilized effectively when mobilized to support project requirements.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Relevant trade discipline experience or relevant NVQ/SVQ/HNC/HND qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
- Excellent knowledge of pre-commissioning and commissioning practices and workflows.
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS), and other relevant safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with construction and operations teams.
