Design Engineer Opportunity in Sheffield

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Sheffield, working on exciting projects in the water sector.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer to take on a key role in our team, working on below ground wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects for water company clients. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking detailed design work, managing and producing design output, and providing written reports to clients and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake detailed design work on below ground wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects
  • Agree design philosophy and design fundamentals
  • Manage and allocate CAD output from technicians
  • Take personal responsibility for delivering design output to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements
  • Assist Project Managers in ensuring project delivery on time and to budget
  • Represent the company at meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals
  • Undertake site visits to gather information and data
  • Liaise with statutory service providers
  • Document and drawing reviews
  • Liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience of wastewater and clean water infrastructure design, including attenuation design and flow balancing
  • Good appreciation of design delivery, health, safety, and environmental processes
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good numerical, analytical, and IT skills
  • The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in clear English
  • Experience with AutoCAD beneficial
  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence
