Electrical Design Engineer - Power Generation

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in a Principal Electrical Design Engineer role. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering transmission protection and control systems, mentoring and coaching team members, and providing innovative solutions as a technical lead for protection and control on the UK Transmission and Distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver transmission protection and control systems with end customers from various domains and disciplines.
  • Mentor and coach team members to support their growth and development.
  • Assess and optimize delivery processes to create efficient engineering processes.
  • Provide technical input for Sales, Proposals, and Operations departments.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Application of protection systems on National Grid transmission network.
  • Experience of National Grid delivery and specifications/standards.
  • Good understanding of design process covering detailed design, circuit diagrams, interface diagrams, cubicle design, settings, and testing.
  • Experience with industry-standard software tools for design, simulation, and test.
  • Good communication skills to allow efficient coordination between the team, function groups, and customers.
