Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Care and Support Specialist to join our team at Dundee City Council. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support services to UASC and young people in care, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Work closely with local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate the transfer of UASC into care via the National Transfer Scheme.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to support UASC in living safely within the community.
  • Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to ensure seamless transitions for young people in care towards rehabilitation with their families or permanent placement in alternative accommodation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a Social Work Degree, Dip SW, or equivalent, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including generous annual leave and access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
