Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Nurse to join our Reserves Occupational Health Care team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist, you will provide high-quality, occupationally focused primary healthcare to members of the volunteer reserve forces (VRF) personnel.

Main Duties

  • Receiving, evaluating, and advising on requests for occupationally focused healthcare from members of the VRF and Reserve Unit chains of command.
  • Providing initial assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with a high level of autonomy.
  • Appraising and summarizing patients' health care records where relevant to military employability and referring to medical colleagues where further assessment is required.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas relating to occupationally focused healthcare for Reserve personnel (including occupational health and travel medicine).
