We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Kemple View in the Ribble Valley.

Our low secure and rehabilitation services cater to 90 male patients, and we strive to provide high-quality care, as demonstrated by our Outstanding rating in all five areas by the CQC in August 2019.

Our treatments are recovery focused and provided by an experienced team. We offer a range of specific therapeutic programs and occupational therapy activities, both in hospital and community settings.

The ideal candidate will lead their multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care, including clinical responsibility for patients, multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Clinical Responsibility: Take responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
  2. Responsible Clinician: Fulfill the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  3. Management Meetings: Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contribute to the development of service strategy.
  4. Training and Supervision: Contribute to in-house training programs within the services and offer supervision to other members of the multidisciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
  5. Professional Development: Maintain CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.
  6. Team Collaboration: Offer a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to assessment, formulation, and treatment.
