Future Education - Year 6 SEMH Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team at Future Education, a leading provider of Special Educational Needs (SEN) services. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 6 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Estimated Salary: £160 - £230 per day

This role involves managing classroom behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to support students with challenging behaviours. You will also work collaboratively with Behaviour Support Staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

About the Role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (either Primary or Secondary trained teacher).
  • Taught in either a SEMH School / PRU/ Alternative Provision/ Primary School OR a Secondary School.
  • Lives in commutable distance to the London Borough of Lewisham.
  • An in-date Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for one ASAP.
