Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Building Safety Consultant to join our team at Carriera. As a Principal Designer, you will play a critical role in developing the Building Safety Act across multiple developments.

Duties:
  1. Attend Design Team meetings and workshops as required.
  2. Prepare and produce BSA progress reports at the end of each RIBA Stage/Gateway submission.
  3. Liaise with other duty holders on design work compliance.
  4. Ensure reasonable steps are taken to plan, manage, and monitor design work to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
  5. Liaise with clients on their duties under the BSA.
  6. Ensure co-operation between all duty holders.
  7. Coordinate the route to compliance with the consultant team and establish a consensus for compliance.
  8. Support the project team with notifying the regulator of any duty holder appointments.
  9. Participate in Design Development.
  10. Ensure a mandatory reporting plan is in place throughout the design phase and available during construction.
  11. Support the team through change management and monitor risks to design work compliance.
  12. Ensure the Fire and Emergency File is in place during the design phase, handed over to the PC during construction.
  13. Monitor design development and identify risks to compliance.
  14. Monitor competency of the design team.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 4 years experience.
  2. Technical background in Architecture, Architectural Technologist, or Construction Management.
  3. Chartership/working towards accreditation within the industry.
  4. Experience with High Risk Buildings.
  5. Aware and understands PD duties and responsibilities.
  6. Keen eye for technical challenges across the construction industry.
  7. Understanding of modern methods of construction.
  8. Comfortable with Building Regs, BSA legislation, BS documents, statutory processes.
  9. Passionate about technical delivery.
  10. Enjoys process-driven roles.
  11. Confident presence to grow and carry the role.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £70,000 per annum, plus an industry-leading benefits package.
