Job Description:

We have phenomenal opportunities for experienced, part-time Senior Mechanical Engineer Leads to work in all areas of our Product Life Cycles from Mechanical Future Concepts, detailed Design and Qualification to Production and In-service Support.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer Lead, you will lead the development of mechanical solutions on a wide variety of complex weapons and weapon systems whilst collaborating with wider multi-disciplinary teams.

You will work in a dynamic (hybrid) working environment, with 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification. You will need to hold British Citizenship or be a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

What we're looking for from you:

  1. Ideally Degree/HND/HNC qualified with experience in Mechanical Design and Development in one of the following areas; Mechanisms, Structures, Assembly and Integration, Concept down selection and development.
  2. The ability to lead mechanical design work packages and have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team with the awareness and understanding of the challenges that this may bring.
  3. Robust design experience across the Product Life Cycle (CADMID)
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the business
