Job Title: Research Laboratory Manager

Professor Gonóalo Bernardes' group at the Department of Chemistry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Laboratory Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bernardes research laboratories, ensuring a productive and safe research environment for the 25+ member research team.

The role holder will provide specialist technical support to research staff and students, assisting with the delivery of research projects on time and to budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the laboratory's day-to-day operations, including equipment maintenance and training
  • Providing technical support to research staff and students
  • Assisting with the supervision of junior members of the team and PTIII students
  • Overseeing the laboratory's safety and compliance with relevant regulations

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry and significant experience in research coordination and group administration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and make effective decisions.
