Imec's Next Generation Technology Specialist

Imec is seeking a highly skilled Next Generation Technology Specialist to join our team in Leuven, Belgium. As a specialist in emerging memory technologies, you will be responsible for designing and developing relevant demonstrators for technology pathfinding. Your role will involve architecting test chip demonstrators that assess imec's advanced technologies in various areas, with a strong focus on new memories, including Magnetic RAMs, eDRAM, and ferroelectric.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop test chip demonstrators for technology pathfinding
  • Collaborate with integration and device teams to drive the test chip project to success
  • Develop measurement and characterization strategies for test chip demonstrators
  • Participate in the design of some parts in the demonstrator and final GDS delivery

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electronics with at least 5 years of relevant industrial or academic experience in circuit design
  • Solid experience in the design of circuit demonstrators and leading tape-outs
  • Mixed-signal or digital circuit design background with experience in bringing circuit design to hardware
  • Understanding of the basic functioning and characteristics of emerging memories
  • Experience with circuit design tools, including layout and circuit simulation (Virtuoso IC design, Hspice, Calibre DRC/LVS, etc.)
  • Experience with measurement equipment and understanding of their limitations
