Job Description

We are seeking a Cloud Data Engineering Manager to join our team at Datasource. As a key member of our cloud engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models in both cloud and on-prem environments. This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days per week onsite, with occasional travel to Southampton or Surrey.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data technologies, Agile frameworks, and commercial and contractual frameworks. You will develop and communicate a data strategy to Defence customers, defining the appropriate level of governance needed and processes required.

You will define the architecture for data software and analytics solutions, including standalone engagements or multi-disciplinary programme environments. Additionally, you will represent Datasource and its technical solutions toward client communities.

As a Cloud Data Engineering Manager, you will provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members and comply with client policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong background in data technologies with ability to quickly learn new systems and prototype solutions
  • Experience in Data Architecture and Strategy, particularly in UK Defence or Public Sector
  • Knowledge of structured and unstructured data, and methods to leverage them
  • Worked with Data and Software Engineers to solve complex data problems
  • Experience in Agile frameworks, Scrum Master, and/or Product Owner
  • Built and specified Data Pipelines in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
