Food Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Specialist to join our team at Ecolab. As a Food Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting food safety, brand standards, and workplace health and safety evaluations at client locations.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science and a proven track record of providing customized, comprehensive on-site evaluations and training to help our clients maintain the highest standards in food safety, cleanliness, guest experience, and brand protection.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting food safety, brand standards, and workplace health and safety evaluations at client locations
  • Consulting, coaching, and training clients on the latest food safety, health, and hygiene practices
  • Working with account management teams to resolve client challenges
  • Performing a budgeted number of audits weekly to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Accessing and leveraging industry-leading food safety practices and ongoing, active monitoring of health inspection information
  • Providing accurate reporting and ensuring effective customer communication and relationships

Requirements for this role include:

  • A completed bachelor's degree in food science or a related field
  • Food safety certifications preferred, such as HACCP, ISO22000, BRC, or NEHA (RS, REHS, or CP-FS) credentials
  • Retail food safety experience and reviews of brand standards
  • Teaching or coaching experience in a food-related field
  • Strong relationship management and advanced consulting skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively without supervision, demonstrate initiative, common sense, and superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks, and work efficiently against deadlines
