Job Details

The Policy and Resource Management team within Roads and Transportation Services is seeking a skilled technician to support the management of Fife's roads assets.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and assist in the management of Fife's roads assets, ensuring they are fit for purpose, safe for road users, and their condition is managed, maintained, and improved in line with the Roads Asset Management Plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support and assistance to the Policy and Resource Management team
  • Assisting in the management of Fife's roads assets
  • Ensuring the condition of roads assets is managed, maintained, and improved in line with the Roads Asset Management Plan
  • Working closely with the Lead Consultant and other team members to achieve departmental objectives

Requirements include:

  • Education to SCQF level 7, including HNC in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject, or Advanced Highers or equivalent
  • Good communication skills and experience dealing with members of the public and internal/external bodies
  • Experience of preparing information for dissemination
  • Time management skills and working to deadlines
  • Relevant GIS skills
  • Some understanding of road asset management and finance practices
