About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen, UK. As a key member of our Life Cycle UK team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers and designers to provide instrumentation, telecoms, and Safety Automation Systems engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality engineering services.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Define project scopes and provide input to budget estimates and planning.
  • Ensure team delivers work on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in HAZOP, FAT's, design reviews, and other relevant safety reviews.
Requirements
  • HNC/HND level or University Instrument Engineering degree or relevant education with +10 experience in front-end studies, FEED, and/or EPCI projects from the energy sector.
  • Broad competency within instrumentation.
  • Experience in Telecoms and Safety Automation Systems preferred.
  • Experience in international engineering standards associated with this role.
  • Experience in participation in HAZOP/HAZID and LOPA reviews.
  • Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and NORSOK standards preferred but not essential.
  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to lead, manage, train, and mentor instrument discipline engineers.
  • Commercial mindset, good communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
