About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our Fostering Service team. As a Social Worker in this role, you will be responsible for assessing and supervising foster carers, as well as working closely with children, young people, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and reviews of foster carers to ensure they are meeting the needs of the children in their care.
  • Work closely with children, young people, and families to develop and implement care plans that meet their individual needs.
  • Provide supervision and support to foster carers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers and healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting children and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of children and families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Post-qualifying experience in a social work role, preferably in a fostering or children's services setting.
  • Excellent assessment and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Children Act 1989 and the Fostering Services Regulations 2011.
