Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a #TrafficTransformer apprentice to join our team in Aberdeen, Scotland. As an Apprentice Field Service Engineer, you will work on real-life projects while being supported on a guided learning journey. You will have the chance to find your passion and make a difference in the world we live in. This Level 3 apprenticeship will last for 4 years, during which you will gain a technical and occupational qualification while earning a salary.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for installing traffic signal assets, including controllers, ancillary equipment, and highways systems. You will also perform electrical tests and pre-commissioning activities, liaise with customers and other contractors, and ensure works are completed in accordance with site specifications.
  • You will have opportunities for cross-training in additional areas, such as fault administration, workshop, stores, and other Yunex Traffic equipment.
  • You will conduct periodic inspections with electrical testing and routine maintenance of highways infrastructure.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • You must align with our Yunex Traffic values, including Zero Harm, Innovation, Customer Focus, and Ownership.
  • You must be willing to travel to multiple Yunex Traffic sites across the UK for training.
  • You should enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions and have a willingness to self-learn, research, and take a creative approach to problem solving.
  • You should possess good organisational and time management skills to assist in completing academic qualifications and occupational skills developments within this apprenticeship.
  • You should be forward-thinking and inquisitive, with the ability to take ownership of challenges and ideas.
  • You should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate effective listening and teamwork skills to create a collaborative work environment and strengthen relationships.

Location and Minimum Educational Requirements

The location of this apprenticeship role will be Aberdeen, Scotland. You must have a minimum of 4 National 5 qualifications at A-C, including Maths and English (or Functional Skills/Apprenticeship equivalent), and a keen interest in Engineering is desirable.
