Job Summary

We seek a dynamic and forward-thinking physiotherapist to join our MSK Upper Limb service. The successful candidate will be based in the Physiotherapy Out Patient department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Consultant referrals efficiently
  • Demonstrate strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
  • Treat a wide range of upper limb conditions following trauma and elective surgery from both Orthopaedics and Plastics, as well as conservatively managed conditions
  • Develop strong communication skills to assist with acute fracture clinic treatments
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced setting, comfortable with varied splinting practices
Working Arrangements

This role requires a commitment to weekend working in the Trauma and Elective wards at RIE as part of a 5 over 7 day working pattern. We prioritize staff development through appraisal processes, supervision, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.

Requirements

The post holder must possess a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not already a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before commencing in the role.
