Job Title: Senior Physical Commodity Settlements Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Physical Commodity Settlements Analyst to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to take on a key role in our settlements team, working closely with the Lead Settlements Analyst to provide a world-class settlements service to our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and working alongside the Lead Settlements Analyst to ensure the timely and accurate settlement of a variety of energy products, including physical gas, power, environmental products, and derivatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the settlement analysts in the team to ensure timely and accurate settlement of energy products
  • Be responsible for the invoicing and settlement of complex gas and power contracts
  • Support the settlement analysts in the team with discrepancies and issues raised from counterparties
  • Take the lead and represent Settlements on key business projects, such as new SAP implementation
  • Support the Front Office operating plan, understand new products, and implement them into the settlements team
  • Work closely with Front Office representatives and support improvements to trading systems and workflow processes
  • Liaise with various teams within the organisation to ensure integrity of data and accurate reporting
  • Support the trading desk in counterparty relationships and ensure quality information flows across the business
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with counterparties and other teams within the organisation
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and relevant commentary to Management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in settlement and invoicing processes for energy trades and related products
  • Experience in an energy trading environment
  • Experience of working with trading counterparties and direct contact with the trading desks
  • A working knowledge of trading systems, preferably ENDUR
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Diligent and dependable
  • Ability to work well in a small but growing team
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as individually and having some people management/mentoring experience would be an advantage
  • Able to work effectively cross-functionally with all areas of the business
  • Dedication to review and improvement of existing processes
  • Commercially astute with the ability to develop and understand issues
