Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Private Markets Specialist to join our team at Legal & General Group. As a key member of our Asset Management division, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis on investment managers in the private markets, including private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure, and renewables.

Your primary focus will be on working with clients to help them manage their private market assets, including researching new ideas, maintaining existing assets, and divesting certain allocations. You will also engage with investment managers and intermediaries to onboard, maintain, or divest fund allocations and directly-held assets according to client requirements.

In addition to your research and analysis skills, you will also be responsible for supporting day-to-day aspects of multi-manager fund management, including coordinating with managers, internal teams, and clients on fundraisings, capital calls, distributions, fund extensions, liquidity opportunities, and ad-hoc queries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on investment managers in the private markets, including private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure, and renewables.
  • Work with clients to help them manage their private market assets, including researching new ideas, maintaining existing assets, and divesting certain allocations.
  • Engage with investment managers and intermediaries to onboard, maintain, or divest fund allocations and directly-held assets according to client requirements.
  • Support day-to-day aspects of multi-manager fund management, including coordinating with managers, internal teams, and clients on fundraisings, capital calls, distributions, fund extensions, liquidity opportunities, and ad-hoc queries.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in manager research within the asset management industry or direct investment experience in a private markets context.
  • Strong command of private markets investments with specialized knowledge in one or more asset classes, such as private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure, or renewables.
  • Good understanding of the investment management industry, including investment strategy, fund management, and operational considerations.
  • Knowledge of defined benefits and defined contribution pensions and insurance clients, particularly their objectives and constraints.
  • Familiarity with investment performance measurement methodologies and reporting standards.
