Job Description

Bio Products Laboratory Limited is seeking a highly skilled Chemistry Analyst to join their team in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

This six-month fixed-term contract presents a unique opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to contribute to the Quality Laboratory function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of testing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, BPL policies, and GMP.
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and control samples, and maintain laboratory housekeeping duties.
  • Promptly report any deviations, out-of-specification/limits results, and assist with investigations.
  • Read, collate, report, and archive results using defined documentation and computer systems.
  • Ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and maintained, and perform system suitability checks where required.
  • Assist with the calibration or validation of laboratory equipment and automated systems.
  • Maintain good stock control.
  • Operate various instrumentation and computer software packages for data analysis, collation, and other related applications.
  • Make recommendations for documentation revision and perform administrative activities.
  • Organize assigned working activities, report issues or delays to next-line management, and perform any other aspects of laboratory testing.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Chemistry.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, with an intermediate level of proficiency.
  • Effective communication skills, enabling clear and persuasive interactions with team members, managers, peers, and clients.
  • Practical laboratory skills, including experience with pipettes and UV equipment.
  • Understanding of GMP/GLP, as well as knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, laboratory SOPs, and stock control.
