About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in creating a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Use industry-leading software tools to accurately report cost and value to the business unit.
  • Interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
  • Be involved in the procurement of subcontract partners, including preparation of bid enquiry documentation and critical evaluation of bids.
  • Produce subcontract documentation.
  • Apply the principles of 'Doing the right thing' in maximizing value and profit.
  • Administer subcontract works packages, including interim assessments of the amount due and change management.
  • Assist in the production and issue of commercial notices to clients and subcontractors, as required by the form of contract and the law.
  • Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of compensation event quotations and the maintenance of detailed schedules of value.
  • Provide information to the commercial team to assist in the production of monthly payment applications to clients.
  • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records.
  • Collate and calculate information required to assist the commercial team in the production and maintenance of a detailed 'cost to complete' including schedules of subcontractor 'liabilities'.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced quantity surveyor who is passionate about delivering high-quality commercial services. You will have a strong understanding of commercial principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
