General Foreman

Unite People is seeking an experienced General Foreman to lead our Civil Engineering division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating work activities to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage site operations, including subcontractors and direct labor
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Coordinate and schedule work activities to meet project deadlines
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality standards
  • Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities and progress
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in the civil engineering sector
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety qualifications
  • Full UK driving license
  • SMSTS or SSSTS with First Aid
