Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at a 44-bed homeless Hostel in Exeter. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents through timed welfare checks, de-escalating challenging behavior, and delivering emergency medication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular welfare checks to ensure the safety and well-being of residents
  • De-escalate challenging behavior and situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Deliver emergency medication as required
  • Maintain accurate and clear records of resident interactions and incidents
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, as outlined by the site manager
  • Provide first aid as needed
  • Perform light domestic chores in communal areas
Requirements
  • Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Previous experience in a similar role, although not essential
  • Ability to think on your feet and respond to challenging situations
  • Compassion and understanding when interacting with residents
  • Can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
