About the Role

The role of a Teaching Assistant is a diverse and rewarding position that involves positively influencing children's lives and pursuing a career in education.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities can vary day by day, including providing 1-2-1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, conducting English and Maths booster sessions for small groups, and assisting with general classroom tasks such as activity set-up and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering tailored teaching activities to pupils either one-to-one or in small groups
  • Ensuring engaged learning and task focus among supported pupils during lessons
  • Supporting social and emotional development, promptly reporting any issues as necessary
  • Assisting the teacher in managing challenging behaviour and fostering positive behaviour
  • Contributing to lesson planning
  • With experience, potentially specialising in literacy, numeracy, or SEN.
