About the Role

AWE Plc, a top employer in the UK, seeks a qualified electrical engineer to serve as a Training Manager in its award-winning apprentice academy.

The role involves inspiring and leading apprentices towards a successful electrical career.

Location: Reading/Basingstoke Area

Estimated Salary: £47500

Candidates must be qualified electricians with experience in electrical maintenance and installation, holding at least a BTEC/City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.

This role requires:

  1. Optimising, organising, developing, and delivering skills and underpinning knowledge training for allocated apprentices
  2. Holding or obtaining teacher and assessor status and maintaining it via continued professional development activity
  3. Working with the Skills Academy team to ensure defined company and national contracted requirements are met
  4. Assuring, assessing, and/or instructing apprentices' skills, knowledge, and behaviours
  5. Line managing apprentices and leading a team of approximately 12 direct reports

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Proven presentation skills
  • Good communication skills for various audiences
  • Good influencing skills to ensure learning opportunities and individual development
  • Extensive experience in an engineering environment
