About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our store team in delivering exceptional customer service, maximizing sales and net profit, and maintaining high store standards. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in stock control, people management, cost control, local marketing, HACCP implementation, and security.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve, improve, and work to stretch agreed KPI targets
- Maximize store sales through stock positioning, managing and co-ordinating in-store and national promotions
- Maximize gross margin by active management of store layouts, range, and own label participation
- Management, planning, and organizing of quarterly stock takes
- Set and control overhead costs, including rostering, to ensure controllable costs are within agreed targets
- Maintain consistently high overall store standards in line with auditing standards
- Keep customers, colleagues, and third parties safe by ensuring legal compliance in store through management of food safety, council, and health and safety compliance
- Attract and retain talent through effective recruitment campaigns and fair employment compliance
- Engage and motivate colleagues using effective communication, coaching, and leadership to unlock their potential
- Work to achieve and maintain links with local communities and charity partners

- A minimum of 2 years recent experience in convenience store at Store Manager level or at least 2 years recent management experience in a supermarket environment at Store Manager level
- GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent) and/or further education in a related discipline
- Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people management, cost control, local marketing, HACCP implementation, and security
- Demonstrate managing a team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel packages
- Post Office, off-licence, forecourt experience
- Fresh food retail experience
- Good knowledge of food safety practices
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
