About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our Finance team at Myerson Solicitors, a Top 200 UK Law Firm based in Altrincham. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in overseeing day-to-day management reporting, driving growth and profitability, and supporting the Finance Director in achieving our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and analyze management accounts and business progress reports to provide insights into our financial performance.
  2. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including the preparation of accruals and prepayments, and maintain the fixed asset register.
  3. Prepare and analyze budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and general financial management reports to inform our business decisions.
  4. Monitor and manage cash flow, debt, and WIP control processes to ensure efficient financial management.
  5. Report on key performance indicators and trends influencing business performance, and develop measures and initiatives to drive improvement.
  6. Undertake financial administration, including leading on external accounting and SRA Account Rules audits.
  7. Deal with taxation matters concerning the company and interrogate SQL databases to perform data analysis on an ad hoc basis.
  8. Improve data dashboards using Microsoft Power BI or equivalent and assist with the evaluation of financial software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Assist the Finance Director and Head Legal Cashier in reviewing, assessing, monitoring, and refining internal financial procedures and controls.
  10. Act as the first point of contact for financial queries and provide training as required.
  11. Oversee spend with external suppliers and manage costs effectively.
