Job Description

Job Title: Revenue Officer - Collections and Recovery Specialist

Job Summary:

Tempest Resourcing is seeking an experienced Revenue Officer to join our team. As a Revenue Officer, you will be responsible for managing and recovering debts owed to the council, ensuring that all business critical processes are scheduled and performed on the council's systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and recover debts owed to the council, including council tax and business rates
  • Communicate with customers who are in arrears, making arrangements to clear debts and chasing missed payments
  • Process accounts prior to and following the granting of Liability Orders
  • Deal with accounts at the Enforcement Agents
  • Identify what action is required for each debt account and take appropriate action
  • Look to move accounts to charging orders, bankruptcy's and any actions allowable following the Liability Order
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email and written letter
  • Experience of Northgate systems is essential
  • IRRV qualification is most desirable
  • Good clear communication skills are essential, both to listen, understand and explain complex issues
  • Ability to work without much supervision

Requirements:

  • Experience in debt management and recovery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of Northgate systems
  • IRRV qualification
