This role will work closely with Intelsat's Director of Spectrum Strategy and the Spectrum Strategy team to analyze and identify emerging spectrum opportunities and risks. The successful candidate will manage efforts from across the globe, particularly in Europe, to protect, optimize, and leverage Intelsat's spectrum assets in support of the company's broader long-term growth strategy.

As a qualified individual with a diverse background, experience, values, and strong work ethic, you will assist in various regulatory engineering aspects, such as coordinating satellite networks with other satellite operators in Europe and performing ITU filing assessments when needed. You will maintain situational awareness of the regulatory and spectrum landscape in your region and its relation to Intelsat's global positioning and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain situational awareness of the spectrum landscape, particularly in ITU Regions 1.
  • Engage directly with regulators in your region and develop rapport and working relationships.
  • Prepare and document technical/regulatory analysis for Intelsat's responses to Region 1 Consultations from other administrations in collaboration with Intelsat's Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Develop technical/regulatory contributions to ITU Working Parties and other regional organizations in alignment with Intelsat's objectives.
  • Conduct technical analyses for intersystem coordination and actively participate in operator to operator and Administration coordination meetings.
  • Prepare contributions and participate in meetings of the ITU (CEPT) and other regional organizations in Middle East and Africa to ensure that regulations applicable to the spectrum use are favorable to satellites in general and particularly to Intelsat.
  • Assist Intelsat's Regulatory Affairs group on ITU-D, CEPT, ASMG, ATU, and market access projects, as needed.
  • Address requests from internal stakeholders regarding ITU and CEPT spectrum-related technical/regulatory matters.
  • Support other spectrum team members, including in the earth station and space station application process when necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least four-year college Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • RF Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of the commercial satellite industry.
  • Deep understanding of non-geostationary satellite systems and applicable regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ITU, CEPT, ASMG, ATU rules and regulations.
  • Effective English language verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate German language or above.
  • Able to write code/program in MATLAB and/or similar language for interference analysis and non-geostationary satellite simulations.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent in English and German.

What We Offer:

  • Hybrid work environment offering up to two days per week work from home (for eligible positions).
  • Development opportunities supporting professional growth championed by our dedicated Learning & Development team.
  • Ways to get involved: satellite launch parties, company connect events, charitable activities, team social events, recognition programs, and employee resource groups.
  • Wide range of benefits and perks to help you stay healthy, happy, and productive.
