Main Responsibilities:

The Launch Manager will provide critical support to the Plant through the management and coordination of all launch activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective product launches.

Key Objectives:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve on-time, on-cost product launches
  • Successfully coordinate running changes and implement IAC Project Management Systems
  • Manage plant interfaces to support program targets and maintain IAC credibility
  • Demonstrate understanding of JIT/Lean Manufacturing Systems and PFMEA/DFMEA/FMEA
  • Develop and maintain detailed timing and action plans
  • Foster effective relationships with all departments and direct cross-functional teams
  • Ensure Launch Readiness Reviews are complete and updated monthly
  • Identify and lead to resolution of key issues in Launch Readiness Documents
  • Ensure Phase Reviews are held on time and document exit exceptions
  • Clearly identify and follow up on issues requiring management intervention
  • Maintain launch timing plans and update progress
  • Continually update progress and incorporate contingency plans into the master timeline

Requirements:

  • BSc/HND in an Engineering or Business discipline
  • At least 5 years' experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally a Tier 1 supplier
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects from development to launch
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional project teams in a matrix organisation
  • Evidence of achieving results through focused leadership and mentoring
  • Evidence of effective budget management
  • Excellent customer and supplier relationship management
  • Working knowledge of costing/quoting process
  • Program management knowledge
  • Knowledge of automotive development, drawings, production & logistics
  • Business, commercial and financial understanding
  • MS Project, MS Office
  • Excellent organisational and communicational skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities and proven management experience
