About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Maths & English Tutor to support students within the Redcar area, providing targeted academic support that helps students excel in these core subjects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions in Maths and English for students of varying abilities, ensuring a deep understanding of key concepts.
  • Assess each student's strengths and areas for improvement, creating tailored lesson plans that meet their individual learning needs and goals.
  • Support students in building essential skills, preparing for exams, and achieving their academic targets through focused teaching and practice.
  • Regularly monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Guide students in developing effective study techniques, homework strategies, and time management skills.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree in Mathematics, English, Education, or a related field would be desirable.
  • Proven experience in teaching or tutoring Maths and English at primary, secondary, or GCSE level.
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum and key teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Familiarity with online tutoring tools and educational technology.
