At Pod Point, we're on a mission to make living with an electric car easy and affordable for everyone. As the leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions across the UK, we're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our innovative Software department within our Grid team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with a dynamic team of experienced engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions. You'll be responsible for developing and supporting software products in line with our product and architecture roadmaps, ensuring the high quality of delivered solutions through the development and maintenance of unit and integration tests and associated pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with your agile squad via pair programming, peer code reviews, helping QA with testing, or story writing & defining tech specs with project managers and product owners.
  • Develop and support software products in line with product and architecture roadmaps.
  • Demonstrate strong, sustainable, and collaborative software development practices that are focused on delivering high-quality, readable, maintainable, and appropriate code and other artefacts.
  • Actively participate in team and community events.
  • Ensure the high quality of delivered solutions through the development and maintenance of unit and integration tests and associated pipelines.
  • Collaborate with your line manager to identify opportunities and areas of growth.
Requirements
  • Experience with some of the following backend technologies: TypeScript and Node.js, Nx, NestJS, and Jest.
  • Experience within the AWS ecosystem, including Terraform, ECS, RDS, Lambda, SQS, and Streaming services.
  • Experience of unit and functional testing.
  • Understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and Event-Driven Architectures.
  • Experience in modern development practices, such as agile, lean, CI/CD, and TDD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
