The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Ecologist to join our team in the Network Rail Eastern Region. As a key member of our Consultancies, you will play a crucial role in delivering an extensive Biodiversity Plan throughout the region.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment, engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to steer and implement landscape-scale biodiversity improvements. You will also have the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies, including data gathering tools and GIS, to organize ecological information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing core project deliverables under the guidance of the Project Manager
  • Supporting Operational Ecologist(s) in the production of biodiversity inventory, action plans, and habitat management plans
  • Developing and implementing biodiversity interventions on the ground
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and integration of plans into day-to-day working practices and standards

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecological consultancy and experience working with stakeholders to deliver biodiversity improvements. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, as you will be required to travel to meetings and sites in the Network Rail Eastern Region.
