**Job Title:** Operational Ecologist

Network Rail has engaged The Wildlife Trusts Consultancies (WTCs) to deliver a comprehensive Biodiversity Plan across the Eastern Region. This role will contribute to shaping and implementing landscape-scale biodiversity enhancements throughout rail networks.

  • The successful candidate will assist Strategic Ecologists in producing core project deliverables.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Developing Biodiversity Inventories based on stakeholder and existing data.
    • Creating Biodiversity Action Plans with overarching objectives for Routes.
    • Designing Habitat Management Plans to achieve project goals.
    • Promoting stakeholder engagement and integration of plans into daily operations.

A full driving licence and vehicle access are essential for this role, as regular travel to meetings and sites within the Network Rail Eastern Region is required.
